Lt. Col. Joseph Freeman Wallace, Ret. C.C.S.O., passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held 2pm, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with interment to follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until the service hour in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
Mr.Wallace had previously worked with the Fair Oaks Fire Department before going to work with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in January 1995 with 30 years of service.
He was of the Christian faith, and was a former Mason and Shriner.
He is preceded in death by his previous wife, Sarah Wallace.
Survivors include: Wife, Kathryn Wallace; 5 Children, Anthony "Tony" (Karen) Wallace, Roswell, GA, Rebecca "Becky" (Bill) Higginbotham, Cumming, GA, Michael "Mo" (Nancy) Wallace, Kennesaw, GA, Steven (Debbie) Wallace, Acworth, GA and Elizabeth "Beth" Robinson, Tallapoosa, GA; Sisters, Gloria Boswell, Douglasville, GA, Brenda (Wayman) Langford; 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes, www.georgiasheriffsyouth.org/
