Joseph L. Thompson III

Joseph L. "Joe Joe" Thompson, III, age 68, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Larry Ritch officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.

Born in Washington, DC, Mr. Thompson lived most of his life in Cobb County. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Thompson Flooring Company for many years, and was an active member of Victory Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph L. Thompson, II and Helen A. Thompson, a sister, Debbie Thompson Gilroy, and a brother-in-law, Ron Cornett.

Survivors include: Wife of 19 years, Patricia LeCroy Thompson; 3 Children, Lawonda Campbell, Gainesville, GA, Joseph (Sharon) Thompson, IV, Loganville, GA and Amanda (Jamey) Green, Dallas, GA; 3 Siblings, Bonnie (Bobby) Croston, Junie Elder Cornett, and Barbara Jean (Steve) Hurlburt; 4 Grandchildren, Krysten Jenkins, Zack Sweet, McKenzie Green and Madelyn Green ; 3 Great Grandchildren, River Poston, Haydyn Poston and Willow Poston; Niece, Christy Odenwald, and several other Nieces and Nephews.
