Joseph Scott passed away in his home in Douglasville, Georgia, on December 24, 2019, at age 50 after a 4 ½-year battle with cancer.
When Joseph was diagnosed in 2015 with stage-four cancer, the doctors didn't expect him to live another 6 months. For the next 4 ½ years, he fought with endurance and positivity. He was always giving and helpful to others, touching so many lives around him. Up until the last couple of months, he even continued to work at Norfolk Southern. He was a true inspiration and well-loved by all those around him.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home with Reverend Rodney Hunt officiating.
Joseph is survived by spouse Lydia Scott, daughter Sarah Scott, son Joshua Scott, daughter Gabrielle Scott, daughter Michelle Scott, mother Patty Ingram, brother Matthew Scott, brother Preston Scott, sister Rachel Ramirez, several uncles and aunts, and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
