John Kenneth Walters, 69, of Marietta passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory with Monsignor John Walsh and Pastor Larry McCloud officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park with Military Honors. Mr. Walters was veteran of the United States Marines where he earned a purple heart while serving in Vietnam. He retired from the Kroger on Dallas Highway as the Produce Manager with 40 years of service. Mr. Walters was an avid golfer, huge animal lover and never met a stranger. He was of the Catholic Faith. Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Walters; parents, Alonzo and Teresa Walters; and his brother, William Walters. He is survived by his Daughter and Son in law, Tiffany and Eric Donnelly of Powder Springs; Grandson, Callihan Donnelly of Powder Springs; Brother, Tom (Paula) Walters of Sunbury, Ohio; Sisters in law, Susan Wilson and Judy Rogers; and a host of family and special friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
