John T. Thompson

John T. Thompson, loving father and grandfather, age 89, of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully on October 30, 2020. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2020 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta with the Rev. Brian Smith. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.

John was a native of Tallapoosa, GA and lived most of his life in Marietta, GA. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marietta. He retired from Lockheed after 32 years of employment, was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served during the Korean War in Germany, and was a member of the Grand Lodge of Georgia, Kennesaw Masonic Temple Lodge #33.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 62 years, Marie Thompson of Marietta, GA. Survivors include: two daughters: Pamela Elledge of Marietta, GA and Rhonda Smith of Dallas, GA; three grandchildren: Lindsey Perkowski, Courtney Perry and Ryan Smith.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Chapel at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA followed by the service at 2:00 pm.
