John Stamey

John Stamey, age 88, of Marietta, Georgia passed away December 17, 2022. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia with Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his wife Faye Stamey.

John was born in Calhoun, Georgia to the late William Bryan Stamey and Grace Pass Stamey. He was married to his late wife, Faye Berry Stamey who just passed away last New Year's Eve, for nearly 63 years. John raised his family in church and was last attending Spring Street Baptist Church in Smyrna when he was able. He retired from Bellsouth/ATT after 43 years of service. He enjoyed camping and fishing and absolutely loved playing cards with his family. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines.

Survivors include: daughter, Lisa and Kevin Seal; son Jeff and Shannon Stamey; daughter, Tonya Stamey; grandchildren: Heather Seal, Katie Grumke, Zach Stone, Zach Stamey, Trenton Seal, Ashley Stamey and Caden Stamey and three great-grandchildren: Teagan, Hazel and Tate; brothers: Robert Stamey and Larry Stamey; sisters: Louise Patterson, Maxine Hudson, Marie Thomas and Lynda King.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.

Pallbearers: Zach Stamey, Trenton Seal, Zach Stone, Caden Stamey, Grant Grumke, Freddie Black, Ricky Koch and John LeFevers.
