Masks and social distancing guidelines are required at the visitation and the funeral at the church.
John Michael Plemmons, age 63, of Marietta, Georgia passed away November 1, 2020. Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Floyd Road Baptist Church in Austell with Rev. Keith Collins and Rev. Jeremy Kilgore officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta with Rev. Chris Ware officiating. He will lie in state from 10am until 11am prior to the service at the church.
John was a long time member of Floyd Road Baptist Church where he served as deacon and chairman of deacons for many years. John was a very faithful Christian to his church and one of John's favorite things to do was spoil his widows at the church. John also served as a Trustee and head of the Trustees of Floyd Road for many years. John retired from the United States Postal Service after 34 years of service. He loved going fishing with his Marine, Clayton and playing with his two favorite granddaughters Maddie and Ellie. He also enjoyed hanging out and getting hugs from his baby grandson, Chase. John was a very great and caring grandfather, husband, and father. One of his biggest interest was listening to the Mark Trammel Quartet.
John is survived by his wife, Thelma LaFevre Plemmons; daughters, Tiffany Plemmons, of Marietta, Haley (Kevin) Alderette of Powder Springs, and Brittany (Daniel) Lamer of Marietta; grandsons, Lance Corporal Clayton Alderette of Powder Springs and Chase Lamer of Marietta; granddaughters, Madeline and Ellie Alderette of Powder Springs; siblings, Ceylon (Kathryn) Plemmons of Kennesaw, Carolyn Mitchell of Dallas, George (Debbie) Plemmons of Villa Rica, Betty (Freed) Ware of Canton and Annette (Danny) Shelton of Austell; sisters in law, Shirley (Jeff) Hicks of Smyrna, Betty Lafevre of Smyrna and brother in law, Freddie (Lisa) Lafevre of Dallas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
