John Murphy

John Murphy, Jr., age 67, of Powder Springs, GA passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011. Funeral services will be held in New Orleans, LA and burial will be at St. Louis Cemetery #3.



A native of New Orleans, LA, Mr. Murphy moved to Powder Springs, GA 6 years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and was retired from the New Orleans City Transit System. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Murphy, Sr. and Irma Beacham Murphy; mother and father-in-law, Calis and Alberta Sims and Tommy Murphy, Louise Harold, Alvin Murphy, Donald B. Sims, Sr. and Steven Harold.



Survivors include:



Wife: Juanita S. Murphy



Daughter: Cherlyn M. Harrison and husband Robert Harrison, Sr.



Grandchildren: Raymond L. Butts Jr. and Robert Harrison, Jr.



Sisters: Rosie Murphy and Irma Thorn

Brothersin-law: Calis S. Sims III, Manuel Harold and Abraham D. Sims
