John Ivan Duncan, age 86, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 25, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Steven McEntyre officiating. Interment will follow at 1pm on Tuesday, March 29th at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
Born in Pickens County, GA, Mr. Duncan lived most of his life in Cobb County. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from AMOCO Foam Products Technical and Development Center after a long career as a computer technician and was the employee of the year in 1996. He was a former member of Floyd Road Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church, and a current member of Cheatham Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol D. Jenkins, 2 grandsons, Bobby Long, Jr., and Walter Mann, his parents, Roy and Viola Duncan and his brothers, Earl and Glenn Duncan.
Survivors include: Wife, Shirley M. Duncan; 5 Children, Jimmy (Beth) Talbot, Jo Lynn (Bobby, Sr.) Long, Jan (John) Mann, Alice (Doyce) Powell, and Ronda (Don) Segassie; 11 Grandchildren, and numerous Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Geneva Scandlyn and Martha Atherton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John Duncan's memory to Cheatham Hill Baptist Church, 1811 West Sandtown Rd. SW, Marietta, GA 30064.
