John William Dickerson

John William “Bill” Dickerson entered Heaven on Monday, March 22, 2021. Bill was born on July 14, 1930 to the late John Wesley and Edith Hulsey Dickerson and is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Barbara June Gantt Dickerson.

Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and subsequently retired from the Atlanta Gas Light Company. After his retirement he owned and operated Cross Tie Distributors. He was a member of Macland Road Baptist Church.

Surviving family includes: Children - Danny (Becky) Dickerson of Cartersville Georgia, Garry Dickerson of Nashville Tennessee, Linda Spencer and Jason Dickerson of Marietta Georgia. Grandchildren - Jo Skillman, Ben Dickerson, Erica Dyer, Austin Spencer, 6 Great Grandchildren. Bill is also survived by a sister - Martha Sue Cape, Brothers - Jarrell and Kenny Dickerson and two sisters-in-law Norma Carter and Irene Gantt. He was preceded in death by brother Tommy Dickerson, sister June Bagwell and daughter-in-law Charlene Dickerson.

Visitation will be Thursday March 25, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with service following immediately after at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
