John Benson Cook, age 84, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away March 28, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.. He was preceded in death by his great-grandchildren Reagan Leigh Chase and Adaley Lane Buckalew.
Mr. Cook was native of Buena Vista, GA and had lived in the Cobb County area for 60 years. Mr. Cook loved Old Classic Cars and only Chevrolets, loved building, boating, water skiing, he set many records in Track and Field at Okeefe High School and he especially loved spending time with his family. Mr. Cook was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include: wife of 61 years: Edna Cook of Powder Springs, GA; two sons: Alan (Debbie) Cook of Rockmart, GA, Tim (Lisa) Cook of Fayetteville, AR; daughter: Karen (Reagan) Holland of Rockmart, GA; grandchildren: Chad, Allison, Amber, Jared, Lance and Kreg; great-grandchildren: Laura, Cody, Bryndall, Kayson, Jax, Cayson, Beckom and Everleigh; sister: Betty (Reuben) Pickens; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
