Joe I. Maxwell

Joe I. Maxwell, age 87, of Dallas, Georgia, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Grant Hardeman, Rev. Eddie Thackston and Rev. Jimmy Summey officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens in Hiram, Georgia.

A lifelong resident of Dallas, GA, Mr. Maxwell was an ordained minister. He was the Pastor of several churches in the area, and also preached on the radio station WDCY in Douglasville for many years. He was a talented Brick Mason and owned his own business. Mr. Maxwell also enjoyed chopping and selling wood, coaching baseball, and fishing. He was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church in Dallas. He was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Harley and Jesse Maxwell.

Survivors include: Wife of 41 years, Mary Ellen Maxwell; 6 Children, Joel Maxwell, Hiram, GA, Tim (Kris) Maxwell, Dallas, GA, Randy (Ellen) Maxwell, Dallas, GA, Jennifer (Dale) Hardeman, Dallas, GA, Janet (Jeff) Jeffries, Dallas, GA, and JoAnna (Nathan) Yandow, Dallas, GA; Grandchildren, Sam Maxwell, Emily (Percy) Broussard, Julia Maxwell, Lauren Maxwell, Grant (Celest) Hardeman, Alex Arnold, Max Jeffries, Emma Jeffries, Harrison Jeffries, Mamie Jeffries, Thaddeus Yandow and Winnie Yandow; Great Grandchildren, Kaylee Maxwell, Henry Arnold, Tyson Arnold, Rayleigh Hardeman, Jase Hardeman, Sadie Hardeman, Leo Nicklaw, and Knox Nicklaw.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe Maxwell's memory to the Word Christian Broadcasting, 8451 Earl D. Lee Blvd. Ste B, Douglasville, GA 30134.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
