Joann Sawyer

Joann Sawyer, age 76, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away February 1, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Macland Baptist Church in Powder Springs with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. She will lie in state Saturday from 9am until 10am at the church. Burial will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 1:30pm at Georgia National Cemetery.

A native of Birmingham, AL, Mrs. Sawyer was retired from General Electric and was a member of Macland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Chuck Sawyer.

Mrs. Sawyer is survived by her Husband, William C. Sawyer Jr.; Children, Bruce Sawyer of Smyrna, GA., Linda Sawyer Flournoy of Ft. Valley, GA., Patty Sawyer Shellhouse of Cuthbert, GA., and Tony Sawyer of Temecula, CA.; Grandchildren, Stephanie Sawyer, Eric Sawyer, Amy Long Sawyer, John Flournoy, Kelsee Sawyer, A.J. Sawyer, Samantha Sawyer, Chuck Sawyer and Destiny Sawyer; Great Grandchildren, Hunter Flournoy, Austin Flournoy, Maleah Flournoy, Holly Flournoy, Anastasia Long and William Sawyer, VI.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Donations can be made to the Paulding County FCA at P.O. Box 644, Hiram, GA. 30141.
