Jo Ann Davidson Strike

Mrs. Jo Ann Davidson Strike, age 82, of Marietta, GA. died February 6, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, February 9, 2013, at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road in Marietta, GA with Pastor Tim Poston officiating. Burial will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta.

Mrs. Strike was born and baptized in Bluefield, WV in 1931. She lived in East Point, GA for 27 years before moving to Marietta in 1986. Mrs. Strike worked in various private businesses in accounting before going to work for the Department of Defense at Ft. McPherson in 1966, and retired from Forces Command, Training and Support Division as Budget Analyst. She was active in many organizations; Girl Scout Leader for 19 years, member since 1974 in American Business Women’s Association, member of the National Railway Historical Society and Railway Museum in Duluth, GA since 1976, active in Delta Pioneers and the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Strike of Marietta, GA and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davidson of Brushfork, WV.

She is survived by her sister Emilie Davidson Broome of Christiansburg, VA; daughter Katie Chamblee and husband Larry of Ono Island, AL; son Tim Strike and wife Cindy of Blairsville, GA; 3 grandchildren Tracey and husband Tom Tally, Christopher Strike, Bryan Strike and wife Katie; step-granddaughter Tracy and husband Jason Klein; and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 76 Seaboard Street, Hiram, GA.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00AM, Saturday February 9, 2013, prior to the service at West Cobb Funeral Home.
