Jimmy Lee May

Jimmy Lee May, age 54, of Acworth, GA passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Life's Hope Baptist Church in Marietta with Rev. Bruce Hamrick and Rev. Larry Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. He will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to the service.

A native of Marietta, Mr. May attended McEachern High School, and worked as a parts supervisor for Southeastern Laundry Equipment for 19 years. He served as a deacon at Life’s Hope Baptist Church, and enjoyed coaching girls softball for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, F.W.(Jack)May and Stella Weaver May and a sister, Gwendolyn Thrower. Survivors include his wife Carrol May of Acworth, his children Kimberly Johnson of Marietta, Venessa Lucio of Marietta, Barney Sanders of Tallapoosa and Crystal Fink of Acworth. He is also survived by a sister Brenda Hollingsworth (Harry) of Acworth; brothers William May (Joan) of Middletown, Ohio, Frank May of Jasper, Jack May (Tammy) of Jasper, Robert May (Jamie) of Acworth and Mike May (Amy) of Jasper. Jimmy has 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life’s Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4pm until 8pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Online guest book @ www.westcobbfuneralhome.com .
