James Arnold “Jim” Bolinger, age 75, of Marietta, GA passed away Monday, September 26, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held 3pm Friday, September 30th at Macland Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 1pm until 3pm prior to the service.
A native of Friendsville, TN, Mr. Bolinger moved to Cobb County in 1967. He retired from Lucent Technologies as a Transportation Manager after 28 years of employment. He was a veteran of the United States Army. His passion was restoring old cars and attending car shows. He also loved mentoring young men and providing positive life lessons during difficult times. One of his greatest joys was spending time with the Rex Dolan and Rainey Turner families who he thought of as family. Jim was known for his outgoing and magnetic personality. He never met a stranger and never failed to tell everyone he met a joke (sometimes more than once!)
