Jerry Roger Johnson, Sr.

Jerry Roger Johnson, Sr, age 81, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away August 17, 2019. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, Mr. Johnson will lie in state from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Open Bible Tabernacle in Marietta, GA with Phillip Medlin, Patricia Farrington, Bishop Grant Cole and Rev. Joe Postell officiating. Interment will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth, Georgia.

Jerry was a native of Canton, GA and spent most of his life in Cobb County, GA. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2000 as a Flight Line Supervisor. He was the former leader of the Jerry Johnson Singers. He was a member of Open Bible Tabernacle in Marietta, GA for over 48 years, where he taught adult men and women's Sunday School and also Wednesday night Bible study. Mr. Johnson was former song leader, an a Elder/Board member and oversaw the maintenance and construction of the Church and School property. He was a member of the ROMEO Club at church which included weekly Tuesday mornings breakfast at Martins.

Survivors include: wife of 58 years: Patricia "Pat" W. Johnson of Kennesaw, GA; four children: Roger (Micki) Johnson of Ellijay, GA, Shana (Chris) Adams of Kennesaw, GA, David Johnson of Kennesaw, GA and Victoria Johnson of Adairsville, GA; two grandchildren: Stephen (Annie) Johnson of Moody, AL and Noelle Adams of Kennesaw, GA; great-granddaughter: Ellenore Johnson of Moody, AL; sister: Patricia (Bob) Farrington of Holly Springs, GA and a host of Beloved Family members.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA
