Mrs. Jean Louise Verhey, age 89, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011. The family of Mrs. Verhey will celebrate her life on Monday, June 20, from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at the home of Susan Baumgartel, 4012 Villa Lake Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127. Interment will follow at a later date in Oneonta, NY and Largo, FL.
A native of the upstate New York area, Mrs. Verhey lived in Largo, Florida for 25 years before moving to the Marietta, GA area in 2003. She worked as a floral designer at Flowers by Dick Lee in Rome, NY for over 15 years. She also enjoyed playing the piano and singing for weddings, funerals, and at nursing homes to entertain the residents. Mrs. Verhey was a Red Cross Volunteer/Nurse during WWII, and faithfully visited residents and patients at hospitals and nursing homes throughout her life. In the different cities that she resided, she attended church and sang in the choir at Oneonta, NY First Baptist; Rome, NY First Baptist and First Baptist of Indian Rocks Beach in Largo, FL. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her brother, Harold Chesbro, her sister, Mary Chesbro Stanhouse and grandson, Matthew Lare.

Grandchildren: Darienne Ballester, Stephanie Lare Rosselli, Christopher Lare, Rebecca Lare and Catherine Lare
Great Grandchildren: Madison and Antonio Ballester, Nicholas, Samuel and Sophia Rosselli, and Matthew Lare
