Jay Reade Kirby, age 54, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, November 28, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Pastors Billy Wood, David Blankenship, and Shayne Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta.
Born in Atlanta, GA, Jay lived in Kennesaw for most of his life before moving to Powder Springs. He graduated from McEachern High School in 1991. He worked as a clerk for Publix for 24 years, and for Burger King for 15 years. Jay was a member of One Baptist Church in Douglasville, enjoyed competing in the Special Olympics, and volunteering for passing out pet food to needy families. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Kirby, and his step-fathers, Michael S. Huff and Richard B. Johnson.
Survivors include: Mother, Patricia Gail Johnson, Powder Springs, GA; Fiancée, Deborah Curry, Step Siblings, Michael Huff, Jr., Ginger Felts, Christy Cooper, David Pearson, and Melissa Darnell; Aunt, Debbie Zadnik; Many Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
