Jason Alexander Sumner

Jason Alexander Sumner, age 29, of Lacombe, Louisiana passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Steve Wagers officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, Georgia.

A native of the Austell and Mableton areas of Cobb County, Jason graduated from Hiram High School. He loved cooking, and he became a Line Chef for B.J.'s Restaurant and a Sous Chef for Assonta's Italian Restaurant in Louisiana. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his immediate and extended families. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Marie Sumner and Linda Golden.

He leaves behind his wife, Julia Maria Sumner, and their five children, Giovanni Jessie Sumner, Jason Alexander Sumner, Jr., Persia Jalea Pichon, Jairus Emmanuel Pichon, and Jeriah Nathaneal Pichon. He also leaves behind his parents, Kelli Sumner and Jason Sumner, and sisters Madison Dean and Jeffery Garrett, Jr., and Caitlin Sumner Marshall, a brother in law, Robert Marshall, III, and a niece Elora Marie Marshall, his grandparents, Ray and Ernieta Sumner, and Jimmy and Rita Golden. His in-laws which became his family are Kathleen and Daniel Pichon, sisters, Shandell White, Danielle Pichon, and Lisa Pichon. The many nieces and nephews that were more like his sisters and brothers are Sheldon White, Shalise Deflanders, Ra’Kelle Deflanders, Omar Brown, Jr., Selena Brown, Italy McNeil, Joshua Pichon, and Leon Pichon. As well as the next generation that loved him as well. Other survivors include an uncle, Broderick and Michelle Sumner, aunts, Rachel and Kevin Rogers, and Erica and Allen Patterson, and numerous cousins who loved him like a brother.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
