Janie Irene Norton

Janie Irene Norton, age 86, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, April 10, 2020. Private Funeral Services will be held with burial to follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Public Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

A lifelong resident of Cobb County, Janie retired from the Cobb County School System after 23 years of working in Food Service at Hollydale Elementary School. She was a longtime member of Macland Baptist Church where she participated with Women on Missions and loved her Merry Hearts Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Lloyd Norton; 2 brothers, Ray Deaver and Jiggs Deaver; 2 sisters, Marcell Bishop and Ruth Wilson; Son in law, Donnie Durham; Grandchild, Casandra Durham and a Great Grandchild, Sharidon Durham-Garbe.

Janie was a loving mother to 6 Children, Sandra Durham, Gary (Mona) Norton, Kay (Steve) Astrachan, Randall (Holly Gauden) Norton, Brian (Kim) Norton and Beth (Ron) Lair; Sister, Louise (Bill) Lingerfelt; 14 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.
