Janet Ethridge

Mrs. Janet P. Ethridge, age 90, of Marietta, GA passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Born in Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Ethridge grew up in Upson County before moving to Marietta, GA where she lived for most of her life. She worked as a waitress at the former Saucony Restaurant in Buckhead, and at the old Marietta Country Club. She had been a member of Milford Baptist Church in Marietta, and she also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and reading. Her family cherishes the memories of her baking cakes and biscuits from scratch. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Ethridge in 2004, a daughter, Elaine Hicks in 2010, and a son, AL Ethridge in 2016.

She is survived by 4 children, Don Ethridge, Mableton, GA, Sherry Crowe, Chiefland, FL, Desirie Rocha, Hiram, GA, and Teresa (Donald) Gary, Dallas, GA, and her beloved niece, Dana Knight, Thomaston, GA; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Janet has waited 21 years to join her husband Donald. As per their wishes, the family hopes to honor them both this spring by scattering their ashes together in the Flynt River.
