James Monroe Welch

James Monroe Welch, age 83, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta.

Born in Jacksonville, AL, Mr. Welch lived in Marietta, GA for most of his life. He worked for C.W. Matthews from 1962 until 1986, then owned and operated JTR Enterprises for 30 years before retirement. He was the founding Pastor of Cheatham Hill Baptist Church in Marietta, and served as the Regional Royal Ambassador's Director for the Southern Baptist Association for many years. Mr. Welch also was the director of the Noonday Baptist Softball League for 52 years.

Survivors include: Wife of 63 years, Joan E. Welch; 2 Children, Tim (Tammy) Welch, Marietta, GA, and Rhonda Jordan, Hiram, GA; 3 Siblings, Jean (David) Jenkins, Jacksonville, AL, Kenneth (Rosemary) Welch, Anniston, AL, and Larry Welch, Jacksonville, AL; 4 Grandchildren, Christopher (Haley) Welch, Jonathan (Kathleen) Welch, Jessica Jordan (Joe Boggs), and Caleb Jordan; 4 Great Grandchildren, Callahan Welch, Mac Welch, Raleigh Welch, and Mattie Welch.
