It is with great sadness that the family of James Alan Watson announces his passing from congestive heart failure on Monday, July 27, 2020, at the age of 65.
Jimmy, as he was known to friends, was a "jack of all trades" who enjoyed playing chess, taking and developing his own photos, cooking for his family, training as a locksmith, metal detecting, dressing as Santa for children and the elderly, and woodworking in his later years. He strived to provide for his family and set an example for his sons through his hard work to improve himself by working in a corrugated cardboard factory at Mead in Louisville while going to school and graduating at the top of his class with an Associate's degree in electronics. For years he worked as a software developer for IBM in Charlotte and Atlanta. Through everything, he loved cracking corny jokes for his children and grandchildren and laughing with his renowned Santa laugh in and out of his Santa suit.
James has found his way back to his wife and high school sweetheart, Pamela, who preceded him a year ago. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Chris (Heather) and Daniel. James will also be remembered by his three grandchildren, Holden, Archer, and Joseph.
Due to the pandemic, his children and grandchildren will be holding a private memorial to pay their respects.
Memorial donations in memory of James may be made to Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 87 Lacy Street NW, Marietta, GA 30060.
