James Halton Vickers

James Halton Vickers, age 84, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, July 7, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Dr. Richard Walker and Dr. Randy Cheek officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta on Saturday, July 8th at 1pm..

Born in Colquitt County, GA, Mr. Vickers lived in Cobb County for 80 years. After serving in the United States Army for 2 years, he worked as a Repairman for General Motors for 28 years. He served as a Deacon at Olive Springs Baptist Church, and currently attended Hurt Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Tinnernon, and his parents Trudie and Henry Troy Vickers.

Survivors include: Wife of 60 years, Brenda Marie Fletcher Vickers; 2 Children, Tammy Vickers, Marietta, GA, and Gidget (Marty) Verdi, Powder Springs, GA; Grandchildren, Tyler (Brittany) Dempsey, Rockmart, GA, Alexander (Savannah) Verdi Summerville, SC, Brendan Verdi, and Cathryn Verdi, both of Powder Springs, GA; Great Grandchildren, Evelyn Drew, Robert James Dempsey, and Mykal Joseph Verdi; Sister, Janelle "Nell" Black, Denton, TX; Brother, Troy Eugene (Jean) Vickers, Weaver, AL; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Friends and extended church and work friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
