James Bobby Thead

James Bobby Thead, age 89, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Matt Petty officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta.

Born and raised in Quitman, MS, Mr. Thead moved to Marietta in 1969. He retired from CSX Railroad as an Railroad Engineer after 30 years of employment. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard, having served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and was a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Wife, Hilda Maxine Thead; 2 Children, James Timothy (Elizabeth) Thead, Dallas, GA and Ellen (Troy) Nixon, Powder Springs, GA; 4 Grandchildren, Jared Preston (Kelly) Crowder, Justin Michael Nixon, Steven Joshua Nixon and Lauren Jessica Nixon.
