James Edwin Tate, Jr.

James Edwin Tate, Jr., age 64, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 9, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. David Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Georgia.

Born in Norfolk, VA, Mr. Tate was a long time resident of Mableton, GA before moving to Marietta 32 years ago. He graduated from Pebblebrook High School in 1977. Afterwards, he worked as a Manager for Printpack for 45 years. He was a former member of Marietta First United Methodist Church, and was a current member of Covenant Church in Smyrna. Mr. Tate enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved going to his condo in Panama City Beach, FL. He also volunteered at his church and at The Extension in Marietta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Carol Tate, in 2015.

Survivors include: 2 Children, Allison (Scott) Monroe, Powder Springs, GA, and Brian (Lindsey) Tate, Marietta, GA; 4 Grandchildren, Sarah Cate Monroe, Hanner Monroe, Riley Tate, and Mackenzie Tate.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
