James Steven “Steve” Sunday, Sr., age 59 of Powder Springs, GA passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 1:00p.m. in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Fain officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
Steve lived in Cobb County for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Campbell High School in Smyrna and was employed with J&R Tire in Fairburn, GA. Steve enjoyed Nascar, Fishing, Sci Fi and Little Debbie Cakes.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Sunday, and mother, Voncile White. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Sunday; Sons, Jamie (Amanda) Sunday of Powder Springs, GA and Matt (Jenna) Sunday of Acworth, GA.; 7 Grandchildren, Kailey Torres, Makenzie Sunday, Avery Sunday, Cooper Sunday, Landon Sunday, Harper Sunday, and Olivia Sunday; 2 great grandchildren; Step Father, Bill White of Summerdale, AL; Sister, Deborah (David) Mitchell of Buchanan, GA and brother Paul (Lisa) Sunday of Powder Springs, GA. and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to continue the care of Kathy. Donations can be made to Matt Sunday, C/O Charter Bank, 3596 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA 30064.
