James Edward “Jim” Snyder of Marietta, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024. Jim was born in Atlanta on February 22, 1938. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria Jean (nee Cornwell) and three daughters, Laurie Cipollini (Ray), Kimberly Snyder and Angela Pittman (Larry). Jim also leaves four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew. He is predeceased by his sister, Ann Bartlett. Jim started his career as a planning engineer in 1962 with Western Electric and retired from Lucent Technologies in 1998. Jim had a lifelong love of animals and had four dogs, whom he adored. He also enjoyed tinkering with his cars and loved a fast automobile. In his younger years, Jim was a gunsmith and enjoyed owning and building guns. If anyone would like to honor Jim’s love for animals, please consider a donation in his name to Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue (mostlymutts.org). A memorial service will be held, date to be announced.
