James Olvin "Jim" Rice Sr.

James Olvin "Jim" Rice, Sr., age 87, of Austell, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Mike Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Wednesday, March 27th at 11:30am.

Born in Adel, GA, Mr. Rice lived most of his life in the metro Atlanta area. After serving in the United States Air Force, he worked for the Ivan Allen Company, retiring as an Account Executive after 35 years of employment. Mr. Rice was formerly a member of the Lion's Club of Smyrna, the Atlanta Optimist Club, and Dogwood Country Club. He was an avid golfer, loved gardening, and attended First Baptist Church of Powder Springs.

Survivors include: Wife of 63 years, Bea Davis Rice; 2 Children, Sharon Rice Head, Augusta, GA and James O. "Jimmy" Rice, Jr. and wife Paige, Powder Springs, GA; 3 Siblings, Nelda Rice Tribble, Adel, GA, Joseph Walter Rice, Charlottesville, VA and Herbert Ward Rice, Newnan, GA; 3 Grandchildren, Michael Alexander Head, Caroline Nicole Head and Elizabeth Claire Rice.
