James Howard Ragan

James Howard Ragan, age 84, of Dallas GA passed away September 26, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
Howard was born in Atlanta, GA, on April 30, 1938. He served in the United States Navy from 1956-1960 and spent 2 years in the reserves after that. He married the love of his life, Frances, in 1963, and together they had only child and daughter, Sabrena, on August 11, 1966. Howard & Frances Ragan have resided in the Cobb and Paulding County areas for the past 50 years.
They were members of Macland Baptist Church for a long time, but had not been in recent years. He retired as a long-distance Truck Driver. He loved watching The Three Stooges and introduced them to his great granddaughter at a young age, who would just laugh while watching with him. He loved old western movies and always had Southern Gospel music blaring when friends and family visited. He was known to buy the latest electronics even if he didn't know how to use them. Even so, he enjoyed to record videos and take pictures. He loved to travel and would often take his grandchildren on as many adventures as he could. If Nanny ever said no to the grandkids (which was rare), Pawpaw would say yes. Most of the time they didn't have to ask.
Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Cephus and Mary Augusta Ragan; older brother, Joe Ragan and two older sisters, Mary Alice Lamb and Willa Francis.
He is survived by his wife, Frances I. Ragan; daughter, Sabrena (Keith) Gallimore of Paulding County; grandchildren, Ashley (Paul) Camacho and Amber (Neil) Dodd; great-grandchildren, Isabella Camacho; and beloved dog, Lucy, who loved him and laid with him until his final day here.

Paw paw loved his dogs and always seemed to "need" to have one even if another had just passed away and they sure did love him.
