James "Jimmy" Kirkpatrick, Jr.

James Everett "Jimmy" Kirkpatrick, Jr., age 78, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 21, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Pastor Travis Rutland officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.

Born in Atlanta, Mr. Kirkpatrick lived in Cobb County for most of his life before moving to Cartersville in 1994. He retired as an Investigator with the Cobb County Police Department after 33 years of employment. Afterwards, he worked as a Resource Officer with the Cobb County School System. He was a member of Liberty Square Church in Cartersville and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include: Wife of 56 years, Joyce H. Kirkpatrick; 3 Daughters, Jennifer (Ty) Mitchell, Powder Springs, GA, Janna (David) Ethridge, Raleigh, NC, and Jill (Terry) Hughes, Acworth, GA; 2 Sisters, Deborah Feldman, Canton, GA, and Melba Bates, Wisconsin; 7 Grandchildren, Justin (Ashley) Mitchell, Taylor (Tanner) Mowery, Caleb Ethridge, Julianna Ethridge, Emma Kate Ethridge, Riley Hughes, and Regan Hughes; 3 Great Grandchildren, Mason and Landon Mitchell, and Colton Mowery, and many Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
