Jacqulyn Rutledge Dodson

Jacqulyn “Jackie” R. Dodson, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at the age of 85 on March 3, 2025 surrounded by family.

From an early age, Jackie was an avid reader and read countless books in her lifetime. She enjoyed the hot summer days when she could work in the vegetable garden, can vegetables, and make her favorite blackberry preserves. She traveled extensively throughout the United States camping in National Parks with family. Fishing in the Gulf with Gene was a favorite pastime; she always caught the most fish. Her love of yard sales and antiques was evident in her home. She was confident, strong, and courageous and valued her independence. She was proud of her career with the Fulton County School System and often spoke fondly of the students even in retirement. Jackie was married to her high school love, Gene Dodson, for 57 years.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband Gene Dodson, parents Theo and Bessie Rutledge, as well as her sister Dorothy Collins and brother Donald Rutledge.

She is survived by her loving children Paige Mulqueen (Kevin) and John Dodson (Kristy), cherished grandchildren Kathryn Mulqueen, Solomon Dodson (Mary), Mary Mulqueen, Abigail Dodson, two precious great granddaughters, and lifelong friend and sister Deryle Jackson.

Our Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother will be truly missed.
