Jackie Allen "Jack" Collins, age 77, of Acworth, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Mars Hill Community Church in Powder Springs with Spencer Haygood. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony at the church.
Born in Rome, GA, Mr. Collins grew up in Atlanta before moving to Cobb County where he lived the most part of his life. He was a Firefighter, and retired from the Smyrna Fire Department after 30 years of service. He also enjoyed photography, collecting antiques, and playing golf. Mr. Collins cared highly for his community and for the people in it. He was very active in the political scene of Cobb County, and had run for County Commissioner Chairman at one point. His passion was spending time with his family, and they have many memories of his "heroic" actions and deeds he performed for others throughout his life. He was a member of Orange Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include: Wife of 54 years, Deanna Gunn Collins; 2 Daughters, Dawn Collins, Acworth, GA and Juli (Ryan) Collins McDonald, Acworth, GA; Brother, John Collins, Peachtree Corners, GA; 8 Grandchildren, Hannah (Travis) Cain, Rebekah Potter, Grace McDonald, Sarah Potter, Emma McDonald (David) Baker, Elijah Potter, Fletcher McDonald and Cardina McDonald; 12 Great Grandchildren.
