Itanor Duval, age 76, of Marietta, Georgia passed away August 10, 2023. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.
Itanor Duval was born on June 8th, 1947, in l'Anse à Veau, Haiti, to Exophane Duval and Adée Petit-Frère. Both parents were city farmers. They did everything they could to provide a better life to their son.
In view of the fact that his parents resided in the country side, Itanor was raised mainly by his aunts in an area that facilitated schooling. The love he had from his anties was unmeasured. They thaught him the importance of loving and respecting everyone. He helped his aunties in their agricultural garden and doing chores in the house, thereby learning the importance of working hard.
In the mid 1980s, he moved to the United States to join his sister Marie. She showed him the way around and helped him find a job in a major carpet production company. He worked very hard and was never late. He was very dedicated and loyal to his customers, co-workers and managers alike.
In 1986, he got married to Elismene Duval, our mother. They pursued a life in Brooklyn, New York. A year later, they had their first son David followed by Wilson and Ricardo. In the process, he assisted his wife bringing his step-children (Nelson, Nerlie, and Etienne ) to this great land of opportunity for a better life and education. He loved his children and always made sure he could provide for his family.
Itanor enjoyed his free time going to church, watching action movies and playing dominoes. After more than 20 years, he retired from his job and moved to Flushing New York. In 2018, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to his family.
He will be dearly missed. Even though he is gone, his funny laughter and loving spirit will never be forgotten.
Survivors include: wife of 37 years: Elismene Duval of Marietta, GA; three sons: Wilson Duval of Smyrna, GA, David Duval of Austell, GA and Ricardo Duval of Lithonia, GA; four step-children: Nelson, Nerlie (Ketty), Etienne and Nadine; five grandchildren: sister: Marie Duval also many nieces and many friends especially Nesly Lahens who loved him too.
