Irma Jean Sampler, age 84, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away April 7, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia.
Irma Sampler was the daughter of John W. Gravitt and Annie B. Townsend. She grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and there she met and later married Ulysses Sampler. This union was to become a lifelong loving relationship. Later, Irma formed a longing for spiritual things, so after studying the Bible, she dedicated her life to Jehovah and began serving him fully.
Irma always gave of her time and worked tirelessly in her younger years supporting new ones to come to an accurate knowledge of the truth.
Later moving to Georgia for the last several years even in her most trying times Irma put her trust in Jehovah to keep her spirits high.
Her Blair Bridge congregation home has been her refuge. She truly loved the brotherhood, and with her kind gentile personality, she was easy to love. She often commented how happy she would be to return in-person to see the friends. With Jehovah’s help, she was able to accomplish that goal.
Her words were “I depend on Jehovah for everything, because I know he cares for me. She endured to the end; she knew her hope was sure.”
Irma was preceded in death by her husband: Ulysses Sampler, parents: John W. Gravitt and Annie B. Townsend, brothers: Lawrence, Tommy, Charles, Robert Earl, and Marvin Gravitt. She is survived by her sister: Shirely Sampler, three children: Terrance Thomas, Starla Berry, and Kevin (Kenya) Sampler, and six grandchildren: Terrance Campbell, DeVante Wilkes, Briana Sampler, Jevan Sampler, Nickolas Sampler and Rashaad Ogletree, nephew: Kerry Gravitt, and other relatives and countless friends.
