Irene Waites

Irene Alice Waites, age 88, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 3, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Paint Gap Baptist Church Cemetery in Mars Hill, NC.

Born and raised in Mars Hill, NC, Mrs. Waites lived in Cobb County, GA for most of her life. She retired from Sears Department Store. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoyed antique shopping, and was cherished by many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hurschell Waites.

Survivors include: Daughter, Kathy Waites, Powder Springs, GA; Son, Gary (Kelli) Waites, Powder Springs, GA; Siblings, Jerry Hensley, Ann Boyd, and Eula Robinson; Grandchildren, Anslie (Jacob) Mouchet, Chasitie Abrams, and Ashton Waites; Great Grandchildren, Kynlee Mouchet, Madalyn Finch, Miley Mouchet, Charli Mouchet; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
