Heyward Galloway, age 82 of Powder Springs, passed away June 4, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 8, 2015 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta with Dr. Randy Cheek officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, Marietta.
Heyward was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Galloway. He is survived by his children: Barbara (Leon) Jackson of Powder Springs, GA, Steve (Susan) Galloway of Starksville, MS; grandchildren: Brian (Tasha) Jackson, Lisa (Alex) Quilis and Matthew Galloway; great grandchildren: Bridger and Brianna Jackson and Kensley and Kate Quilis.
Heyward was a faithful member of Olive Springs Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and was a longtime usher who always greeted everyone with a smile and an encouraging word. He had also been a member of the MARC Model A Club, the Lockheed Retirement Group, and the WellStar Health Place Group. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving at Moody Air Force Base.
Heyward retired from Lockheed after over 38 years of service. He was better known there as “Little Brother.” He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed gardening.
