Herman Charles Butler

Herman C. Butler, Sr., 86, of Mableton, GA passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014. Funeral Services will be held 2pm on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Floyd Road Baptist Church with Rev. Burman Cape Jr. officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 1pm until time of service. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, GA. Mr. Butler was a high school graduate from Newnan High School and was retired from General Motors. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and was the Former Chairman of the Deacon Board at Floyd Road Baptist Church for 25 years. He had also faithfully ministered on Sunday afternoons to the residents at Autumn Breeze Nursing Home. He is survived by his wife, Betty Louise Butler; Children, Donna Sweat of Villa Rica, Chuck Butler of Temple, Dawn (Roger) Neal of Aragon, Dana (Todd) Morton of Temple and Deedra (Darryl) Kerlin of Hiram; Brother, Edward Butler of Milledgeville; Grandchildren, Robert (Keisha), Amanda, Michael, Timothy (Michelle), Garrett, Jeffrey (Sarah), Jacob (Briana) and Destiny; three great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Donations can be made to the Youth Fund at Floyd Road Baptist Church in Austell. The family will receive friends 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
