Hazel M. Roberts

Hazel M. Roberts, age 82, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Monday, February 26, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Tommy Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta.

 Born and raised in Covington County, Alabama, Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of Clarence and Omie Marler of Opp, Alabama. Hazel lived most of her life in Cobb County, Georgia. She graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Georgia State University in 1972. Her life’s work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker was spent advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities; first with Cobb-Douglas Public Health and then the Douglas County Resource Alliance. She was a longtime member of the South Cobb Church of Christ and enjoyed studying the bible, attending worship services, and spending time with family.  Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leo Roberts, a brother, Waylon Marler, and a sister, Grace Capps.

 Survivors include: Two Sons, Matthew Marion (Heather) Roberts, Marietta, GA, and Joseph Leo Roberts, Jr., Pueblo, CO; three Grandsons, Jackson, Nolan, and Tristan Roberts. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory.
