Harthy “Bunni” Brothers of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 6:45am at Emory Adventist Hospital, Smyrna, GA.



The family will receive friends at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road in Marietta, GA on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, from 12pm-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2pm in the Chapel.



A funeral service will also be held at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellvue Avenue in Trenton, NJ, on Friday, June 8, 2012, at 1pm with visitation from 11am until the service.



Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ.



Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she attended the Trenton School system until she went to Thyne Institute in Chase City, VA. Upon graduation she continued her education at Morgan State College in Baltimore, MD.



She and her friend, Jean Moore Jones, joined the American Red Cross during WWII and served in Guam, Korea and several Army Bases in the United States.



Bunni, as she was affectionately known, was employed as the Project Coordinator for the Department of Parks and Recreation for the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands. She retired December 31, 2010. She was a Medical Technologist at Bucks County Hospital in Pennsylvania before going to St. Thomas, V.I. in the early 60’s.



Bunni was baptized at Galilee Baptist Church at an early age. Upon relocating to the Virgin Islands she joined the Dutch Reform Church.



She was a long time member of the St. Thomas East End Lions Club and the Inner Wheels of St. Thomas.



Preceding her in death was her husband, James E. Brothers. She was the daughter of the late Leomae and Rev. Dr. Semuel M. Bagley, sister of the late Jacquelin Bagley and Orva Bagley Nance.



Mrs., Brothers leaves to mourn her passing brothers, Semuel E. Bagley & wife, Alma, E. Wilson Bagley & wife, Deloris, of Trenton N.J. and Rev. Dr. Stanley B. Bagley and wife, Ruth of Riverdale GA; sisters, Leomae B. Good of Trenton, Vernie B. Ellis of East Orange, NJ and Janice B. Donastorg of Powder Springs GA and a special cousin, Judy P. White of Lawrenceville, NJ. She also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
