Guillermo A. Marti Jr., 63, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away on 8 November 2024 due to natural causes.
Guillermo was born on 29 August 1961 to Carmen Aviles and Guillermo Marti in Bronx, New York and raised in Levittown, Puerto Rico with his brother Raymond Marti. After Guillermo graduated from high school he briefly attended college then joined the U.S. Army and served in the Field Artillery branch.
While in the U.S. Army, he reached the rank of Sergeant First Class. His highest award received was the Meritorious Service Medal which is the highest award possible during peace time. He also was inducted into the Honor of the Saint Barbara award, which is only awarded to those on the Field Artillery Branch who showed the highest qualities of a field Artilleryman. He was especially proud of the time he spent as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Sill, Oklahoma from 1988 until 1990. Guillermo traveled the world during his service in the U.S. Army.
Guillermo honorably retired from the U.S. Army in 1999 and settled in Georgia. After retirement, Guillermo began his second career with Charter Communications and completed 16 years before receiving his retirement. His hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, going to the gun range, watching martial art movies, and spending time with his family. Guillermo collected comic books, stamps, firearms, shoes, hats, and shoes.
Guillermo enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers.
In 1976, Guillermo met his spouse, Sharon Marti, in Puerto Rico. However, their journeys led them in different directions, but met each other again and married on 1 July 2004 and enjoyed and loved each other until now. Guillermo also loved his children dearly and had close relationships with each of his sons and his sole daughter. Together they enjoyed traveling and many shared hobbies
Guillermo was predeceased by his mother, father, and his brother Raymond Marti. He is survived by spouse, his eight children and 16 grandchildren.
