Glenn Horning

February 11, 1933 — February 7, 2019

Glenn Wayne Horning, age 85, of Marietta Georgia passed away February 7, 2019.
He was born February 11, 1933 in Hagerstown Maryland, to the late Clarence B. and Violet M. Keckley Horning.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rosalie Ann Barrett Horning, and his siblings Clarence Melvin, Richard, Geraldine Kendrick, and Virginia June Socks.
Surviving are his daughters Nancy Kay (Darrell) Smith of Powder Springs Georgia and Barbara Jean (Mike) Walker of Franklin Tennessee, and two grandchildren Michael and John Walker.

He was a veteran of the US Navy where, after attending electronics technician school in Memphis, he repaired and maintained radio and radar equipment in naval aircraft on board the USS Lake Champlain. This experience led to a 34 year career with Scientific Atlanta working in sales, marketing, and product line management which spanned defense, aerospace, and commercial customers worldwide. He retired in 2000.

Perhaps because of his time in the Navy, he became an avid boater. Since 1974, he could be found up at Lake Lanier. He enjoyed fast boats like his Sea Ray named “Glenn’s Heat” and spent retirement days on his houseboat “Rosie’s Roost”
