Glenn David Horner

Glenn David Horner of Acworth, GA, passed away on January 31, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  

David was born on July 11, 1946, in Gilmer County, GA to parents Joseph and Ila Taylor Horner.  David met the love of his life, Nancy Ellen Johnson, and they were married and lived in Dalton GA for almost 60 years.  David and Nancy raised a family of 4 children, daughters Robin (Aaron) and Alicia, sons Slate and Addam, grandchildren Ty and Christian (Rashada), Lydia (Brittany), great grands Payton Alicia, Maya Caroline and Solomon Slate.

David was a much-loved Masonic Brother initially from Tilton Masonic Lodge #291 where he received his initiation on September 1, 2001, and reached the degree of Master Mason on September 7, 2002.  He never missed a chapter meeting.  David transferred his membership to Acworth Lodge #176 when he moved to the area, remaining an active member until his death.

David is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ila, sisters Betty Easley (Alvin), Maybre Talton, Diane Benson (Curtis), Ruby Long (Hairl), brothers Pete, Roy and Billy.

David is survived by his wife Nancy and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, his precious sister Barbara Collins (John) and his brothers Tommy (Faye) and Mike, sisters-in-law Sharon (Billy), Jean (Roy) along with many nieces and nephews, and special nephew Dale Horner and special niece Krista Shipman.

Following cremation, the family will hold a private service at a later date.  Please keep the family in your prayers.
