Gerald Winton Wallace

Gerald Winton Wallace, age 83, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 with his family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 10, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton. He will lie in state at the church from 10am until 11am prior to the service. 

Mr. Wallace loved his wife and family and being on his home-place farm of 55 years. Born on Christmas day in 1939, he was a lifelong resident of Cobb County, Mr. Wallace was a veteran of the United States Army, having served for 3 years. He founded Wallace BBQ in 1967, retiring in 1986 from the Wallace BBQ in Powder Springs location. Mr. Wallace and his family were excited to serve their community. Mr. Wallace loved horses and farming, raising beef cows, classic cars, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Winton Wallace, sister, Jenelle Henderson, a son-in-law, Keith Harris, and a grandson, Gerald Gilbert.

Survivors include: Wife of 63 years, Beverly Wallace; 5 Daughters, Vicki (Jimmy) McKelvey, Kim Harris (the late Keith Harris), Melissa (Randy) Alexander, Jeri (Steve) Murdock, and Janet (Steve) Graham; Sister, Martha (Mickey) Taylor; 10 Grandchildren, Stephen (Taylor) Harris, Jason Alexander, Amanda (Blake) Henderson, Mary (Lucas) Cameron, Michael (Brooke) McKelvey, DeAnne (Brad) Turner, Blake (Heather) Alexander, Andrew Graham, and Katie Graham; 13 Great Grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews. Many lifelong friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald  Wallace's memory to the Whitney Davis Mulholland Fund c/o First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, or to the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, or to the Loving Arms Cancer Outreach.
