Gerald Lynn Sluder, age 58 of Dallas passed away Monday, April 22, 2013. Memorial Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 26 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta with Chaplain Lt. Mike Bell officiating.
Mr. Sluder is preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Dorothy Sluder. He is survived by his niece, Wendy Williams; great nephews, Joshua and Zachary Williams; great niece, Kaylie Williams; nephew, Justin Sluder; great nephew, Atticus Sluder and nephew, David Sluder.
Mr. Sluder was a dedicated fireman for 25 years and retired from Cobb County Firestation #13. He was an EMT, Commercial Diver, Gold and Mineral Miner, Electrician, Certified Scuba Diver, Amateur Radio Operator and Master Carpenter. He was a trained rock climber and a long-standing member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America and Gold Prospectors Association. He was an all around adventure seeker and story teller! He was a graduate of North Cobb High School and attended Florida Keys Community College.
