Gerald Martin

Gerald Wayne Martin, age 71, of Temple, Georgia passed away July 18, 2020. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna with Dr. T. P. Johnston, Jr. and Rev. Doug Huggins officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.

Mr. Martin was a native of Harlan, KY grew up in Knoxville, TN before moving to Atlanta area. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna, GA for 29 years. He loved History, John Wayne and Davy Crockett, loved telling jokes and regaling everyone with stories of his past. He retired from the City of Atlanta Corrections after 26 years of service and was a Veteran of the Army National Guard. He loved his family and spending time with his two grandsons.

Survivors include: wife of 38 years Terrie Martin of Temple, GA; two sons: Jeremy (Tori) Martin and Alex Martin; four daughters: Amanda (Travis) Smith, Courtney (Justus) Mize, Justine (Clayton) Cox and Candace Martin; grandsons: Joshua Smith and Gideon Mize; brother: John (Christine) Martin; sister: Karen (Jimmy) Bright; two brother-in-laws, one sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna.
