Mrs. Edmondson was born in Monroe, GA on April 6, 1929 to J.T. and Annelle Hammonds. Mrs. Edmondson married Mr. W. T. Edmondson, Sr. on January 27, 1952 and celebrated fifty years of marriage before Mr. Edmondson passed in October of 2002. She moved to Smyrna, GA in October of 1955. She was former member of Spring Street Baptist Church and a member of Central Baptist Church in Smyrna, GA. where she served as Vacation Bible School Director and Taught Sunday School for 1st-3rd grades for many years. She loved to teach and tell children about Jesus. She loved cooking and feeding her family, especially with over one hundred cheese biscuits and over 30 regular biscuits at Christmas time. No one ever left her house hungry even if just stopping by for a quick visit. Her hobbies, other than keeping her four grandchildren were reading Christian fiction books in which her library was well over 200 books. She loved watching the Game Show Network, Wheel of Fortune, working crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and putting puzzles together with Tiffany.
Known as "Mama" or "Mama Betty" to so many, mother to two and "Georgia" to a select few that aggravated her. She radiated joy to all she met, as long as she was in a private room at the hospital or rehab. She loved watching the Atlanta Braves and Gaither Homecomings. And above all she loved her FAMILY.
