George B. Takang, 34, died on May 12, 2022, of cardiac arrest. George was born March 19, 1988, in Reno, Nevada. He graduated from Douglas County High School, Georgia, in 2006. He was awarded the Governor's Scholarship to study and Princeton University. However, due to health reasons, George did not graduate from college.
George had a tremendous intellectual curiosity. He devoted much of his time to reading and writing on many subjects, including photography, racism, philosophy, and theology. Although he was not a regular churchgoer, he believed the church was the sacrament of salvation. Late last year, he called to inform me that his book entitled "Only The Strong Can Love" has been published by the BALBOA Press, Bloomington, IN. He requested I do everything I can to promote his book. That's a remarkable milestone for a 34-year-old.
George loved to debate about any subject. For most of our conversations, George did much of the talking while I listened as his pupil. On some occasions, I asked him to disclose the sources of his information and insights; and he replied, "It just comes to me."
While George was taken too soon from our world, his imprint of who he was will never leave. He loved his family and stayed in touch with his siblings for the most.
George, you are now free from the cares of the world, and as we toil on, we will remember fondly.
