Gary Wesley Thayer

Gary Wesley Thayer, age 83, of Marietta, GA passed away Friday, October 7, 2016. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Tuesday, October 11th at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Dr. Ken Williams and Gary Turner officiating.
Born in Andover, NY, Mr. Thayer moved to Marietta in 1977 from Birmingham, AL. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Sr. Master Sergeant after serving 20 years during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Afterwards, he worked at Lockheed, retiring after 20 years as an engineer. He enjoyed serving as a Deacon at many churches, including Burnt Hickory Baptist, New Salem Baptist and West Cobb Church. He was preceded in death by 2 children, Joe Thayer and Kristina Carroll.
Survivors: Wife, Priscilla A. Thayer; 3 Children, Selina Thayer, Marietta, GA, Dirk Thayer, Kosciusko, MS and Regina Self, Clay, AL; 5 Sibling, Keith Thayer, Webster, NY, Bruce Thayer, Webster, NY, Carol Dorfner, Sodus, NY, Nancy Krull, Lake Placid, FL and Craig Thayer, Williamson, NY; 11 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
